Waking up to a cup of hot tea or a mug of black coffee with honey, with a few birds chiming into your ears is pure bliss. Especially in these stressful times. A world away from the jingling world outside a cocoon where you can simply put up your two feet and watch the sky, or perform your surya namaskar, or just day dream merely, laugh with your friends and family - the cosy.

The  balcony which is a  huge courtyard in large villas or a mere extension or a footage in smaller apartments you can have your little balcony garden. We live within concrete jungles with small un cosy apartments where the balcony is most underused. Either it will be a terrace balcony or an extension of a window.
You can use this tranquil place effectively, with lovely indoor plants. Depending on the area and the possibility of the heat remission from the sun or complete blackness, due to the shades, the plants or flowers can be planted. Rose or hibiscus shrubs, rubber plants or palm, marigolds or even a tomato shrub can be thrown around to get some colour in the place.

Let's begin

- Initially talk to your society Manager if you are allowed to utilize the balcony area to keep plants.
- Check if the area is completely outside, in the sun, partially outside or completely indoors. The plants will be arranged accordingly. The space will determine the shape, size and true nature of the plants. Before you set up the shrubs, please paint the area in accordance with what you desire.
The colours of the walls of the balcony may be white to maintain its pristine nature, or green in accordance with the plants to give it a forest look. Keep a few chairs and a folding table so that a nice barbecue or buffet can be organised depending on the weather.
One doesn't need an entire farm to grow fruits and vegetables, a small space can grow cherry tomatoes or baby apples to give the look of a vegetable garden.
Create a natural habitat in the balcony. Let the butterflies, moths and birds come and sit on the flowers. Put a money plant or a snake plant and throw a few carnations and lavenders around for the smell of it.
These areas will be visited by bees too so you will bring spring to your doorstep.
